Golf Gardens: The Classiest Mini Golf Experience West of the Rockies

Approximately one block from the beach is Golf Gardens.  This 18-hole course has long been a fixture and a popular attraction for many visitors on Catalina Island.  But don’t expect your average putt putt golf experience with tacky windmills, obscene clowns and magic castles. Snuggled amid serene, tranquil gardens, this miniature golf spot has been operating for forty years.  Mini golf fans often confuse Golf Gardens for a botanical garden with its clean spaces, and lush landscaping.

Golf Gardens of Catalina Island is open year round, and features immaculate and well-groomed grounds, tunnels, bridges, creeks, mazes, loop-the-loops, and multi-level elevations; all cleverly designed to provide the ultimate test for miniature golf aficionados.  Every hole along the course has a dedicated theme regarding Catalina Island from its history, to its topography and wildlife along with unexpected challenges and complicated twists. Also don’t be surprised if your shot is blocked by a cute kitten or two.:)

The entire course takes between an hour and an hour and a half, giving the kids and restless adults something to do before dinner beachside.  The variety of the course and its creative themes has many return visitors.  If you’re looking for affordable fun on Catalina Island just a block away from the ocean, restaurants and other attractions look no further than Golf Gardens.
